About the Dietitian
Meet Your Dietitian
Hi! I’m Sarah Bixby, MS, RDN, LDN, a registered and licensed dietitian nutritionist specializing in sports and performance nutrition. As a seasoned nutrition coach, speaker, and educator, I empower athletes and busy individuals with practical, evidence-based strategies that make fueling your body simple, effective, and sustainable. Through personalized nutrition coaching, I have helped hundreds of clients cut through the confusion of conflicting nutrition information to improve their health, increase their energy, and perform at their best.
My passion for sports nutrition began long before my career. As a high school track athlete, I experienced firsthand the challenges of underfueling. I had always had a positive relationship with food, and I thought I was doing the right things, but I didn’t know what I didn’t know. Therefore, I unfortunately suffered from multiple stress fractures and illnesses that sidelined me in the most pivotal parts of my junior and senior year seasons. I had also lost my menstrual cycle for most of my high school career, which is something that I incorrectly looked at as a badge of honor and testament to the vigorous training I had done. Years later, I learned that I had likely experienced Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) (better known as the Female Athlete Triad at the time) but, unfortunately my healthcare team had not flagged it. This personal experience now fuels my mission to bring more awareness to RED-S and educate athletes, parents, coaches, healthcare professionals, and organizations about the importance of proper fueling. I am here because I want to help you avoid making the same season-ending mistakes that I did.
Now, as an adult, I continue stay active and prioritize my health and wellness, although it certainly looks different these days. Juggling a career, volunteer activities, and family life makes prioritizing my health that much harder. However, I still find the time to run, swim, hike, compete in races (triathlons are my new favorite form of competition), practice yoga, and eat nutrient dense foods. When I am not talking about all things nutrition and wellness, I love exploring new restaurants and spending time with family/friends. My favorite food will forever be ice cream (yes, dietitians eat ice cream too!) and my favorite TV show is Friends.
SO, whether you are a young athlete trying to improve your performance and reduce the risk of injury/illness or you are still learning the ropes of “adulting” (whether you are 25 or 65…I like to think we are all still learning ;) ), I see you, and I am here to guide you every step of the way! I look forward to being a part of your journey!

My Approach
My approach is one that puts you in the driver’s seat. We will come up with a plan that works for you and your lifestyle, because the only plan that really works is one that you can stick to. I have a food-first approach, and will always find ways to tie in your favorite foods (no matter their nutrient composition). My goal is to help you to have a positive relationship with food while prioritizing your health and well-being. So, let’s do this together!
